Il genere del Tower Defense è un genere che divide in due il popolo videoludico: c’è chi lo ama attraverso l’enfasi del fattore strategico, passando i momenti di calma a congegnare la migliore difesa, e c’è chi lo odia perché troppo statico e non vorrebbe che le torrette facessero tutto il lavoro sporco. Elefantopia ha ben capito che se voleva attrarre il maggior numero di persone doveva inventarsi qualcosa di nuovo per unire le due fazioni di videogiocatori, qualcosa che unisse le meccaniche statiche dei Tower Defense ai momenti dinamici tipici degli sparatutto in terza persona (TPS): ecco che nasce McDROID, frutto dell’alchimia tra i due generi.
