Negli ultimi anni il panorama picchiaduro sta avendo una nuova vita, grazie soprattutto all'avvento di Street Fighter IV su PlayStation 3 e Xbox 360. Nell'ultimo periodo abbiamo potuto ammirare delle piccole perle come Injustice 2 (http://www.playstationbit.com/primo-piano/recensioni/injustice-2-recensione), il ritorno in grande stile di Tekken 7 (http://www.playstationbit.com/primo-piano/recensioni/tekken-7-recensione), King of Fighter XIV (http://www.playstationbit.com/primo-piano/recensioni/the-king-of-fighters-xiv-recensione) e, seppur con un lancio disastroso, non possiamo non citare Street Fighter V (http://www.playstationbit.com/primo-piano/recensioni/street-fighter-v-recensione). Dalle sapienti menti di Arc System però, arriva un nuovo picchiaduro, anzi per la prima volta un DLC, che va ad aggiungersi a quello che si può definire un autentico capolavoro del genere: GUILTY GEAR Xrd Revelator.
Nonostante il picchiaduro di casa Arc System sia davvero un titolo eccellente e sopra la media dei picchiaduro, fuori dal Giappone resta praticamente ingiocato, e infatti sia in Italia che nel resto dell'Europa (ad esclusione della Francia), è quasi impossibile trovare una scena fissa dedicata a GUILTY GEAR, forse a causa delle complesse meccaniche di gioco accompagnate da un sistema di combo duro da digerire per i neofiti del genere.
Siccome fino a oggi non avevamo mai analizzato il gioco completo, in questa recensione non ci limiteremo solo a parlare del DLC Rev.2, ma andremo ad analizzare l'intero titolo, tra le varie meccaniche e le svariate modalità offerte.
