Come ogni anno hanno preso luogo, in quel di Tokyo, i PlayStation Awards, evento che premia per voce di Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan and Asia i titoli che hanno venduto di più sul suolo orientale. Nessun premio di Platino, segno che nessun videogame ha superato il milione di pezzi nel corso del 2016, ma tanti trofei d’oro (per rimanere in tema PlayStation) di cui sono stati insigniti giochi del calibro di Dark Souls III ed Uncharted 4.
