Quando ho visto Alone With You la prima volta, non ho potuto evitare di pensare ai giochi per l’Amiga 500 dei primi anni Novanta. Il personaggio principale è diventato automaticamente uno “sprite” e io, effettivamente, un ragazzetto delle scuole medie. Alone With You è la storia di una colonia spaziale devastata da un evento atmosferico, che ha portato alla morte di tutti i membri della crew che l’abitavano; ad eccezione del nostro uomo e di un’unità virtuale che rappresenta (quasi) il solo ed unico modo per trovare salvezza e ritornare sulla terra. L’avventura sci-fi in questione è articolata su due aspetti che camminano di pari passo: l’aspetto della visual novel e quello dell’esplorazione. Ottenuto il primo contatto con l’unità virtuale, ci vengono fornite delle istruzioni per ristabilire tutto il necessario utile a riparare la nostra astronave e che ci porteranno a trascorrere fino a tre settimane nella colonia e nei suoi laboratori, giardini e caverne prima di vedere il finale.
