L’ultima decade videoludica è stata sempre caratterizzata dal mancato arrivo di molti titoli Made in Japan nel Vecchio Continente. Ultimamente però sembra che questo trend stia andando a esaurirsi, grazie soprattutto al lavoro di software house come Gust. Questi talentuosi sviluppatori hanno capito, dopo il successo in Occidente della saga Atelier, che la produzione di giochi di ruolo che riescano a distaccarsi sensibilmente dalle caratteristiche tipiche del genere possono avere successo anche nel continente europeo.
